本計畫擬針對我國在南太平洋區重要之鮪漁業漁獲魚種長鰭鮪，進行其歷史作業報表logbook及体長資料的檢視與分析，檢視其時空分佈，並分離「不同標的」長鰭鮪船作業船隻，求取本種具代表性之歷史體長與CPUE序列。也將探討漁獲與體長分布及衛星水文資料之關聯，並配合觀察員暨小釣資料相互映證，以了解環境因子對我國南太長鰭鮪不同海區漁獲體長大小及CPUE序列變動之影響 This research aimed to examine the historical catch statistics and length data of the albacore tuna caught by Taiwanese tuna longliners operated in the South Pacific Ocean. The spatial and temporal distribution patterns of these data will be examined, the non-albacore effort will be separated, and a more representative time series for both data sets will be obtained. In addition, relationships between environmental data and CPUE series, in combination with data obtained from observers and small tuna long-liners from different geographical areas will also be examined and used to further explore the influences of environmental factors on the fluctuations of the CPUE and size distribution of south Pacific albacore.
