Abstract
本計畫調查研究淡水河主流及其河口海域的溶解和懸浮態重金屬元素(如鈷、銅、鐵、錳、鎳、鋅)的濃度分布變化,並探討這些元素在溶解態和懸浮態之間的分布係數變化。另外其他水文資料如酸鹼度、鹽度、溶氧、懸浮物濃度和矽酸鹽濃度等亦將作有系統的調查。 結果顯示淡水河中的溶解態重金屬最高濃度比全球河流的平均值高出2至35倍不等隨元素而異,其中以鎳的濃度高出最多,但其重金屬濃度範圍跟工業國家較汙染之河流如英國的Humber,法國的Rhine及美國的Hudson等河流相似。淡水河中的懸浮態重金屬濃度比全球河流的平均值亦高出甚多,這些結果顯示淡水河遭受重金屬元素的汙染相當嚴重。 在空間分布上,除了錳元素外其他元素無論是溶解態或是懸浮態皆呈現非守恆性且無規則的分布。溶解態錳在中游以後呈現守恆性的分布但其懸浮態的濃度分布隨著鹽度增加呈現遞增現象,此乃錳在水體中受到氧化還原反應所影響的結果。錳元素在溶解態及懸浮態的分布係數亦呈現隨著鹽度遞增,銅元素在兩相的分布係數則隨著鹽度遞減造成此現象之原因並不清楚。 Concentrations of dissolved and particulate trace metals (Co, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni and Zn) were determined in the Tanshui Estuary, northern Taiwan, which is considered as one of the most polluted estuaries in Taiwan. The partitioning of these metals was also studied. Dissolved concentrations of studied metals in the Tanshui Estuary are generally 2-35 folds higher than those in the world average river water, but are comparable with those of the anthropogenically disturbed estuaries, such as the Humber, the San Francisco Bay and the Hudson estuaries. With the exception of Mn, distributions of dissolved and particulate trace metals in the Tanshui Estuary mostly showed non-conservative behavior and scatter within the estuary, probably resulted from the non-point sources input. The distribution of dissolved Mn exhibited nearly conservative at salinity >10 region, but slight addition seemed to occur at salinity <5 region. Concentration of particulate Mn showed decrease at salinity <10 region, afterwards concentration significantly increased with seawards. Concentration of particulate Mn positively correlated with concentration of dissolved oxygen. Manganese and Cu showed significant partitioning change throughout the estuary. The variation of percentage of total Mn (dissolved+leachable particulate) bound by suspended particulate matter (SPM) and of the distribution coefficient, K/sub D/, for Mn with salinity was totally corresponding with the distribution of particulate Mn. These features were resulted from the oxidation of Mn(II) because of the Tanshui Estuary gradually became oxic with seawards. In contrast, the percentage of total Cu bound by SPM decreased markedly with increasing salinity. The distribution of K/sub D/value for Cu followed this pattern. The percentage of trace metals bound by SPM in the Tanshui Estuary followed the sequence: Fe>Zn, Cu>Co>Mn>Ni.
