Description

Abstract
一、 漁獲量調查-漁獲資訊回報系統的建立:本研究仍將持續在數個主要的漁獲上岸地點,雇用臨時工協助資料的蒐集.目的在確認漁獲通報制度是否確實執行並漁業生物學研究所需資料的蒐集. 二、 鯨鯊生態習性的調查-標識放流(去年度計畫展延的部分):本研究擬在今年度上半年進行去年度計畫所展延的兩尾鯨鯊人造衛星標識追蹤,用以瞭解台灣周邊水域出現鯨鯊的族群結構及洄游情形. 三、 鯨鯊漁業生物學研究-現場採樣:有關鯨鯊保育管理所需的基礎漁業生物學資訊,至目前為止仍極為缺乏,因此進行漁業生物學研究所需資料的蒐集,想必能從中獲得鯨鯊年齡成長、食性、生殖等珍貴的資訊.預期效益: 1. 全面掌握本省鯨鯊的漁獲量. 2. 初步掌握鯨鯊於本省的分佈、洄游情形. 3. 瞭解鯨鯊於台灣地區被漁獲的季節變化情形、漁獲體長頻度分佈. 4. 提供鯨鯊管理措施的建議,及保育觀念的宣導. 5. 大型魚類標識放流技術的引進. 6. 野生動物保育及永續利用觀念的提昇. The aims of this project are as follows: 1. Investigation on whale shark catches-Establishment of landing-report back system: A number of part-time research assistants will be continuously hired in the main fish markets landed whale shark for collecting the fisheries and biological data for further studies, and also for reconfirming the landing-report back system working properly. 2. Research on the ecological characteristics of whale shark-From tagging experiments (Continuing the last year unfinished work of previous project). The tagging experiments will be continuously carried out using the satellite tags and acoustics tags from last year in the first half of this year. Form the results obtained from tagging actions, it will be expected to realize the population structure of whale shark, migration, diurnal movement, optimum temperature and depth around Taiwanese waters. 3. Studies on the fisheries biology of whale shark-Sampling directly: To date the biological informations for fisheries management on whale shark are still insufficient. Therefore, it is necessary to carried out the research on the fisheries biology of whale shark including age and growth, diet, reproduction and migration etc.. Expected benefit: 1. To monitor the utilization of whale shark in Taiwan entirely. 2. To carry out the preliminary studies on distribution, migration of whale shark. 3. To realize the seasonal variations of catches of whale sharks in Taiwan and their size distributions. 4. To provide a biological suggestion for management of whale sharks and propagate the conservational conception. 5. To introduce the telemetry techniques on large fish into Taiwan. 6. To evoke public the concepts of conservation and sustainable utilization.
