本研究目標為：一、各種瀕危大型軟骨魚類漁獲訊息及漁獲努力量資料的蒐集。二、各種瀕危大型軟骨魚類生物學樣本蒐集。三、分析台灣海域定置網誤捕鯨鯊之年齡及性別組成。四、分析西北太平洋鯨鯊洄游路徑及垂直移動模式。五、分析台灣周邊海域鯨鯊與環境關係。六、進行大型軟骨魚類標識放流追蹤的可行性評估。 Objects of this study are: 1. Capture and fisheries information collection for endangerd large chondrichthyan fishes; 2. Biological samples collection for endangerd large chondrichthyan fishes; 3. Age and sex structure analysis for the whale shark in Taiwan waters; 4. Horizontal and vertical movement patterns analysis for the whale shark in the Northwestern Pacific; 5. Environmental factors analysis for whale shark movements in Taiwan waters; 6. Tracking feasibility assessment for large chondrichthyan fishes.
