本研究擬以太平洋及大西洋的鮪旗魚為對象，分析環境因素對個別鮪魚系群之漁況與資源量變動的影響，並建構鮪類生態與環境結合的分析模式，以評估氣候與海洋環境變異可能帶來的衝擊，促進鮪旗魚資源的永續利用。擬完成之工作項目包括：太平洋及大西洋鮪旗魚漁場環境資料庫建立；太平洋及大西洋鮪旗魚資源與漁場與環境之變動關係之解析；及探索未來太平洋及大西洋遠洋鮪釣漁業產業或管理可能遭遇之問題。In this study we try to analyze the fishing condition and stock abundance of tuna and billfish in Pacific and Atlantic oceans in relation to climatic variability. Ecological and environment coupled models will be established in order to evaluate possible impact from climatic and environment variability and to promote sustainable utilization of tuna resources. We aim to reach three goals namely the establishment of fishing ground database in Pacific and Atlantic Oceans; the fluctuation of fishing and stock condition for tuna and billfish in relation to the oceanic environmental variability in Pacific and Atlantic Oceans; and the investigation of problems of tuna fisheries of the Pacific and Atlantic oceans in the future.
