Description

Abstract
為執行台灣生物多樣性在基因層次的保育工作並落實永續經 營理念,本計畫建構一個以雲端架構為基礎的基因資料庫系 統及基因註解分析系統,目前計畫已完成系統的開發,並完 整收錄由台灣學者所發表的所有生物序列的資訊,並定期自 動同步更新所有數據。此計畫主要目的是蒐錄與台灣生物相 關的基因序列及註解,系統不僅能夠每日同步自動更新儲存 於美國國家基因資料庫(National Center for Biotechnology Information,NCBI)中由台灣學術研究單位 所上傳的生物序列與基因註解外,更完整蒐錄歐洲分子生物 實驗室(European Molecular Biology Laboratory,EMBL)所 有與模式物種相關的基因註解資訊。除此之外,本系統提供 國內使用者可以快速查詢台灣所有生物農業生物多樣性相關 的基因或是由使用者上傳個人有興趣的基因資料,並進一步 完成跨物種比對分析及基因功能註解分析服務。系統目前具 備完善的資料儲存安全機制與分散式運算平台,可確保大量 序列資料傳輸與儲存的完整性與隱密性。序列比對分析服務 採用分散式系統架構執行,能加速資料分析速度,賦予國內 產官學研單位一個穩定且安全的交流平台。在學術研究成果 部分,計畫主持人實驗室在 2013 年共發表 7 篇 SCI 期刊論文 與 12 篇國內外研討會論文。目前系統網址已重新登記並命名 為 http://www.tagc-tw.org/。 The goal of this project is to construct a comprehensive genetic database which contains all biological genetic data generated by all domestic research organizations in Taiwan. The designed database system and bioinformatics analysis tools were based on cloud environments. Collected biological sequences and annotation information can be updated daily automatically and the contents of Taiwanese genetic sequences are exactly the same as the NCBI's collection. The established database system in this project is a distributed storage system based on the cloud computing architecture, which has the capability of high fault-tolerance, stable, and efficient online processing and analysis. To ensure the security of data uploaded by users, we have referred to the advantages of previous methods and implemented several security mechanisms in our database system. Regarding academic research achievement, Prof. Pai's lab has published 7 SCI journal papers and 12 international/domestic conference papers in 2013.
