Description

Abstract
Intelligence Transportation System (ITS) is one of the popular applications in recent years. Intelligent vehicles use Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks (VANET) to communicate with other intelligent vehicles and Road-Side Units (RSU). With VANET, intelligent vehicles can increase transportation safety and efficiency and also offer numerous convenient services to both passengers and the driver. However, messages are transmitted wirelessly in VANET and therefore vulnerable to malicious attacks. In the event of a malicious attack, the On-Board Unit (OBU) in intelligent vehicles will not function properly, and accidents are likely to occur. Therefore, building a highly reliable and fault-tolerant VANET is of high important. In this project, we attempt to visit the following four issues in VANETs: (1) fault-tolerant problems with Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) communication in VANETs; (2) fault-tolerant problems with Vehicle-to-Roadside (V2R) communication in VANETs; (3) early stopping agreement problem with V2V communication and early stopping agreement problem with V2R communication in VANETs; (4) the isolation mechanism of faulty unit in VANETs. This project is expected to take three years to complete the above four issues.
