過去須借助電子顯微鏡(SEM)、Energy dispersion X-ray spectrometry、(EDX) Backscattered electron imaging (BSE)等儀器，才能觀察的ITZ，本研究中可用肉眼觀察到氯離子於ITZ傳輸之深度。藉由傳輸深度求得氯離子傳輸係數，探討爐石於水泥基材料時， ITZ及漿體傳輸性質改善之情形。針對ITZ及漿體分別之改善情形，改善混凝土材料之微觀結構，發展強度及耐久性佳的超高性能混凝土。
