本研究提出台灣港務公司策略上需採用綠色人力資源管理的概念，企業從招募和聘用具有綠色價值觀、意識和知識的新員工開始，進而發展和加強員工的綠色技能和能力的綠色訓練，並對綠色工作行為與績效的考核有明確的要求，再根據組織綠色目標的成功實施提供激勵的獎勵及鼓勵員工參與有關於環保或生態的活動或相關計劃，以塑造台灣港務公司員工的綠色心理氣候，進而能影響角色內或角色外的員工綠色行為，最終能促使更好的環境績效。國內外在港口研究的相關文獻，較少使用綠色人力資源管理的變數，本研究可以補此一空缺。
