東漢末年，何休為發揚公羊學，遂作《公羊墨守》、《左氏膏肓》、《穀梁廢疾》三書，以排抑《左氏》、《榖梁》二傳。當時的經學大師鄭玄見之，則以發《墨守》、鍼《膏肓》、起《廢疾》三書反駁之，何休見鄭玄之書而發「康成入吾室，操吾矛，以伐我乎」之概歎。何、鄭二人年紀相仿，鄭玄僅大何休兩歲。何休為東漢公羊學大師，在當時有「學海」美稱；鄭玄則為融合今古文的經學大師，在當時也有「經神」之號。兩位學養聲望平分秋色的同輩學人，為《春秋》三傳的優劣進行針鋒相對的論辯，就漢代春秋學史而言反映出三傳聲勢消長的蹤跡，就漢代經學史而言則可視為今古文經學地位互換的轉折，在在都具有相當重要的學術與歷史意義。然而該三書自宋代起已漸次散佚，至今僅得清人掇拾補綴的輯佚之作以存其梗概，以致今人未得一睹全貌，且迄今亦未見學界專文逐條詳論，實為憾事。因此，本計畫擬以清人孔廣林所輯《箴左氏膏肓》二十餘條輯文為範圍，進行逐條輯文的探討分析，希冀除了從中判斷何、鄭二人論辯的優劣之外，更希望由此得出何休與鄭玄的解釋觀念、詰問反駁方法以及論辯策略，以補目前學界關於此段經學史事件及文獻研究的不足。 At the end of the Eastern-Han Dynasty, Ho Hsio何休 authored three books, namely, Gong-Yang-Mo-Hso公羊墨守, Zuo-Shi-Gao-Huang左氏膏肓, Gu-Liang-Fei-Ji穀梁廢疾 which were commentaries on the the “three books of Chun-Chiu春秋” the Gong-Yang公羊, Zuo-Shi左氏, and Gu-Liang穀梁. The works of Ho offered a clear preference for the Gong-Yang (Gong-Yang-Mo-Hso), the first book but clearly disparaged the ideas of the latter two Chun Chiu books, the Zuo-Shi and Gu-Liang.Later on, Cheng Hsuan鄭玄, a contemporary of Ho, authored three books, the Fa-Mo-Hso發墨守, Jen-Gau-Huang鍼膏肓, Chi-Fei-Ji起廢疾 which all opposed the Ho commentaries. In response, Ho Hsio said that “Kang-Cheng康成 (Cheng Hsuan’s other name) entered my room and used my lance to attack me.” This Ho -Cheng debate continued on the three books of Chun-Chiu through the Later Han and was a major issue with the books shifting status constantly. Scholars in this debate raised such questions as old verses new, and contemporary verses the ancient. But the actual scripts of the 3 books of Chun-Chiu have been lost since the Song Dynasty and it wasn’t until the Ching Dynasty, did scholars try to restore the works. In spite of this no academic paper to date has independently explored the topic. This program focuses on the Zuo-Shi-Gao-Huang to find out its meaning.
