Additional deep-sea pontoniine shrimps (Decapoda, Palaemonidae) from Taiwan, with description of one new species

Abstract

Two additional deep-sea pontoniine shrimps are reported from Taiwan and Dongsha (= Pratas). Periclimenes ngi Li, Mitsuhashi & Chan, 2008, originally only known from the Philippines, is a new record for Taiwan. The other species collected from Dongsha is new to science and although very similar to P. ngi, differs in the first pereiopod with the carpus being as long as the merus, the third pereiopod having a stouter propodus and a proportionately shorter accessory tooth of the dactylus, as well as its distinctive colouration in life.
