| dc.description.abstract | The Indo-West-Pacific material previously identified as Eugonatonotus crassus (A. Milne Edwards, 1881) is found to be distinct from the typical form in the tropical Western Atlantic by bearing an extra pair of spines at the fifth abdominal tergite. The new form, named E. chacei sp. nov., is described and a holotype selected from Taiwanese material. The morphological differences between the two species are listed and discussed and their coloration is illustrated. | en_US |
