Rapid development has occurred in the cruise tourism sector in Asia accompanied by a global cruise market shift to the East. Rapid economic development has led to substantial growth in China's cruise tourism. Because of this rapid development and new demand for cruise tourism, Shanghai has become the largest cruise port in Asia. Because Shanghai is under pressure from the increasing demand for cruises, analyzing the key factors for developing the cruise tourism industry in the city is necessary. The main purpose of this study was to evaluate the key developmental factors of Shanghai's cruise tourism industry by using an interval-valued fuzzy number method and to rank them by importance. The results reveal the influencing factors of Shanghai's cruise tourism industry and provide a reference for Shanghai Municipal Government and cruise companies.en_US
