The intrusion of metal objects during charging may result in reduced performance, increased energy consumption, and excessive heat generation, which may potentially damage the charging system. In this paper, we develop an innovative sensorless method of detecting foreign objects. We build an efficiency model by conducting experiments with metal objects of various sizes placed between charging coils. This approach identifies metal objects on the basis of efficiency changes, eliminating the need for sensors, thus effectively reducing costs. Finally, the effectiveness and reliability of this model are validated using the experimental platform. |
