The main research directions in our center are offshore wind power, ocean energy and river and coastal disaster prevention. To simulate the problems in these topics, we need to develop numerical models and solve them. Therefore, the basic research in our center aims at the developments and the applications of the numerical algorithms, to meet the requirements on numerical simulations of other research groups in our center. The members of basic research have many contributions in the field of numerical simulation. To solve the system of algebraic equations and system of ordinary differential equations we work on the fast convergence on solving linear algebraic equations, solving the ill-posed system, solving the nonlinear algebraic equations, the group preserving scheme for solving the initial problems of ODE, and the Lie-group shooting method for solving the boundary value problems of ODE. To discretize the problems we have boundary element method, Trefftz method, method of fundamental solutions, polynomial expansion method, radial basis method, method of particular solution, generalized finite difference method, and boundary function method. This algorithms basically cover the requirements on the simulation the problems in relative issues. The goal is that the numerical models developed by our center could obtain the simulation results more quickly, accurately, and stably.
