Feature Since the founding of Dayeh University in 1980, the Department of Industrial Design has been established. Initially, only a few teachers, who were responsible for teaching, administration and assistant, began to develop the Department of Industrial Design under the condition of saving expenses. Four years later, the department was successfully promoted and in 1994, it was approved to add the Institute of Industrial Design, hoping to cultivate basic and advanced design talents needed by the country through complete design education and training. Later, in response to market demand and following the trend of the times, the Institute was divided into the Industrial Design Group and the Spatial Design Group, extending its reach to a wider and deeper level. In 1990, the Industrial Design Institute was officially renamed the Design Institute, becoming an independent teaching and research unit. Under the leadership and promotion of the president and dean, the department has accumulated more industrial design practice experience and highlighted the characteristics of the department through interdisciplinary integration and research projects commissioned by the National Science Council, the government or the industry.
