Description

Abstract
Utilization of peroxidases for the biomimic synthesis of neolignan derivative has been studied. Different reaction conditions have been tried, such as different pH, buffers, co-solvents, and the addition rate of hydrogen peroxide. The present studies found that horseradish peroxidase gave higher yield than other peroxidases for the oxidative phenolic coupling of 4-allylphenol. Under the optimum condition, 4-allylphenol dimer, magnolol, can be obtained in desired yield.
