The new species is closely related to Nephropsis carpenter! Wood-Mason, 1885, but differs in the shapes of the carinae and groove on the carapace, as well as in the spination and relative length of the pereopods. The large sequence divergence in the barcoding gene COI also supports the recognition of the new species. |
