A New Species of Aliaporcellana Nakasone and Miyake, 1969 (Crustacea: Decapoda: Anomura: Porcellanidae) from Taiwan, with Redescription of Aliaporcellana Suluensis (Dana, 1852)

Abstract

A new porcellanid crab, Aliaporcellana taiwanensis n. sp., is described based on an ovigerous female specimen collected from Ludao Island, northeast taiwan. The new species appears closest to Aliaporcellana suluensis (dana, 1852), but it can be distinguished from the latter by the shape of rostrum and armature of carpus and palm of the smaller cheliped. Aliaporcellana suluensis is redescribed herewithin based on material from Nansha Islands, South China Sea, and Great Barrier Reef, Australia.
