A revision of the sandborers (Genus Sillago) of Taiwan

Abstract

A Revision o[ the sandborers (Genus Sillago) o[ Taiwan, Bull. Inst. Zool., Academia Sinica, 17(1): 1-11. A large sample size of sandborers specimens were used to the systematic studies of five species of sandborers (Genus Sillago) from the waters around Taiwan. A revision with a key were made according to the external appearances, squamation on head and L-form of hemal arch studies. The results of meristic or non-meristic studies were also employed in the article. The five species are S. maculata, S. parvisquamis, S. sihama, S. argentifaciata and S. iaponica.
